Terms & Conditions
The rules of the road for using this site: what you may do with our content, what we promise, and what we do not.
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of healthdigest.life and of any content, newsletter or service we provide through it. By using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please stop using the site.
1. Agreement to these terms
By accessing healthdigest.life you confirm that you are at least 16 years old, or that you are using the site under the supervision of a parent or guardian, and that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement. If you are using the site on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for it.
2. About the service
Health Digest publishes educational articles about nutrition, movement, sleep and stress. The site is free to read. Some features, such as a paid membership or the newsletter, may be subject to additional conditions disclosed at the point of sign-up.
We may add, change or remove content and features at any time. We do not guarantee that any particular article, feature or archive page will remain available.
3. Licence to use the site
Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and read the site for personal, non-commercial use. You may print or save individual articles for your own reference, provided you do not remove attribution or copyright notices.
You may not:
- reproduce, republish or redistribute substantial portions of our content without written permission;
- use our content to train machine learning models, or scrape the site at a rate that degrades service for other readers;
- frame the site, mirror it, or present our content as your own;
- remove, obscure or alter any copyright, trademark or attribution notice;
- use the site for any unlawful purpose, or in any way that could damage or impair it.
Quoting up to 150 words with clear attribution and a link to the original article is permitted without asking.
4. Intellectual property
All content on this site — text, illustrations, design, logos and the compilation of articles — is owned by Health Digest or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The names “Health Digest” and the leaf mark are our trademarks. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership to you.
5. Your submissions
If you send us a message, a correction, a pitch or any other material, you confirm that you have the right to share it and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights. You retain ownership of your work.
For pitches and reader contributions that we agree to publish, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to edit, publish, syndicate and archive the material, and to use your name and biography in connection with it. We will never publish a submission without your agreement, and the licence ends if we decline to publish.
Do not send us confidential information. We cannot guarantee that unsolicited material will be kept private.
6. Prohibited conduct
- Attempting to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers or any connected system.
- Introducing malicious code, or interfering with the security or availability of the site.
- Impersonating Health Digest, our staff, or another reader.
- Harassing our staff or contributors, including through the contact form or by email.
- Using the site to distribute spam, unlawful content, or medical misinformation presented as our guidance.
We may suspend or block access, and where appropriate report conduct to the relevant authorities, if we believe these rules have been broken.
7. Third-party links and advertising
Our articles link to journals, guidelines and other external resources for reference. These links are provided for convenience and do not constitute endorsement of the destination, its operator or its content. We are not responsible for third-party sites, and your use of them is at your own risk.
We do not accept paid placements in editorial content. Where an affiliate relationship exists, it is disclosed in the article itself.
8. No medical advice
Nothing on this site constitutes medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and no clinician-patient relationship is created by reading it. Our content is general and educational, and it cannot account for your history, medications, allergies or test results. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before changing your diet, exercise routine, supplements or medication. See our Disclaimer for the full statement.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components, or that any information is complete or current.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Health Digest and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill or health outcome, arising from your use of or inability to use the site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the site is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Health Digest, its staff and contributors from any claim, loss or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the site.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware.
Before filing a claim, please write to [email protected] and give us 30 days to resolve the issue. Most complaints are answered in a day.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in the law or in our service. The revised version takes effect when it is posted on this page, and the date at the top will change. Continued use of the site after that date constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be announced in the newsletter.
14. General
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will stay in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the site.
